Welcome to ProTech Voice's English Grammar and Communication quick tips.

Today's quick tip is: The second element in the communication method.

The second element in the communication method are messages. Messages could be considered verbal utterances, nonverbal behaviors, and visual aids. There are many ways messages can be created and received. Let’s start by understanding all four types of messages which are meanings, symbols, encoding and decoding, and forms. Meanings are thoughts in your mind as well as interpretations. Symbols are words, sounds, actions, visual aids, and facial expressions. Encoding is the process of putting your words or meanings into thought. Decoding is how people interpret your thoughts or actions. Forms are used when the thoughts you would like to share are considered complex. Public speaking, for example, one may use visual aids and forms to breakdown the subject to their audience.

Today’s activity: Have fun in today’s communication process by using all these types of messages.
